  i come in late on many threads here because of the demands of my job and other responsibilities.

  i did not get to participate in a couple of recent music vid threads.. so i guess this is my own selfish little bid for attention!!

  this is a talk i did in 2000, i was going through some old papers and came across this........laugh at me, lol, i don't mind.

  i was a good sister!!!!!.

  what i think is important about this is, i gave the talk in 2000, i was on this board in 2005, and last month i was a small voice on the phone to a radio station speaking against the wt about the disfellowshipping and shunning policies when a member gets a blood transfusion.. there is hope for those that seem hardcore in.. .

  BA . . interesting comment, you are obviously a big PF fan . .

  I was not a "huge" pf fan before, and now I am listening to them more with the goal of learning some of the music.

  Now, I "AM" a huge Hendrix and SRV fan . . and I take the same stance towards "alternate" renditions/covers of Hendrix and SRV stuff that you did with this piece that inspired me . . .

  I learned something already . . I "WILL" celebrate anyone discovering SRV or Hendrix because of another atists alternate take on the original . . .

  This vid is Van Morrison and Roger Waters doing the Pink Floyd song "Comfortably Numb". I first heard this version when I watched the movie "The Departed"

  It inspired me to learn some floyd stuff. I thought I was a pretty good guitar player till Roger Waters and David Gilmour showed me where my limits are . . . but I'm working hard to get to the next level.

  Just wanted to share this song, I thought Van really brought ALOT to the table in this performance . . .

  truthsearcher, I respect where you are coming from but you are coming across to me as very judgemental. I have walked in Oompa's shoes, have you?

  Have you ever heard this little saying "I don't drink and I don't chew, and I don't go with girls that do?" That is the culture that I was raised in.

  You kinda disqualified yourself from having any worthwhile input to this thread with that comment . . dontcha think. your comment comes across as condescending.

  The LAST thing Oompa needs is a bunch of bible verses up in his face. He needs understanding, empathy and support.

  Oomp, I want to add that Changeling has a good point, your wife is doing what she thinks is best, god bless her. Keep in mind that her mind is clouded by the cult mindset . . she obviously cares for you. That is a blessing in and of itself dude.
